Gut bacteria are also commonly known as the gut microbiota.   


This type of bacteria lives in your gut that can be found in the gastrointestinal system, including the mouth, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, etc. Gut bacteria help in processing the food you eat, and it has a great effect on your metabolism, mood, and immune system. Some researchers and experts say that having a balanced number of gut bacteria relies on having a balanced immune system. Gut microbiota produces serotonin, a chemical that is essential for depression, happiness, and a calm mood. Eat fermented food   


Eating fermented food is good for improving the microorganisms in your body. Fermented food such as yogurt, kimchi, and other food that involves bacteria or yeasts is beneficial in reducing disease-causing bacteria in your intestines. Fermented food is mostly rich in Lactobacilli, which is beneficial to your health.   


Eat food that is rich in prebiotic   


Food that is rich in prebiotic is good for the growth of the microbes or healthy bacteria like Bifidobacteria in your gut. Prebiotics is commonly present in most vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Study shows that prebiotics is beneficial and may reduce the risk factors for certain diseases, including heart disease and diabetes.   


Avoid eating too sweet food or too many artificial sweeteners   


Eating too sweet food or food with too many artificial sweeteners have a negative effect on the gut microbiota. As an example, aspartame, an artificial sweetener, reduces weight gain, but it increases blood sugar and impaired insulin response, which is bad for your health.
